Thanks to our generosity, for 20 years we have collected toys and games to brighten the holidays for children whose mothers are incarcerated in Bedford Hills and unable to shop for them. Not only do we bring joy to the children, but also to their parents, who will have the pleasure of giving their children gifts. This year is no exception. The annual gifts collection will be received not later than Sunday, December 3, so they can clear Taconic security in time.
Please remember that everything should be NEW and in the original packaging if at all possible, with NO gift-wrapping, in order to clear security at the prison. Deposit the unwrapped gifts in the box by the lift just outside the sanctuary starting November 19.
NO guns or toys that promote violence should be included and NO stuffed animals. Here is a list of suggested items that need to fit comfortably within the box provided:
Soft rubber-like Farm Animals
Ages 3-6 years
Craft Sets (jewelry, tiles, pot holders, etc.)
Play Cooking Sets
Vehicles (e.g., school buses, trucks, cars)
Play Doctor Sets
Soft Body Dolls/Baby Dolls (all ethnicities)
Play Bowling Sets
For ALL AGES – according to product recommended age guidelines
Puzzles/puzzles with pegs for younger ones
Soft balls – assorted sizes but as big as or bigger than a tennis ball
Building blocks (e.g., Legos, Duplos or similar)
Art supplies (paper, crayons, markers, glue)
