We have various groups available for beginning, intermediate, and advanced musicians.
Interested in Joining a Bell Choir?
New ringers are welcome any time of year and are encouraged to come to rehearsals to see what it is all about. A workshop is held each June for interested ringers who are considering entering the handbell ministry for the following season (September – early June). You do not have to be a member of the church to participate in this ministry.
Considering Music for a Wedding or Private Event?
Our most experienced group of ringers, the Katonah Celebration Ringers (KCR), play at weddings, international symposiums, local festivals and concerts, and offer a beautiful and elegant musical ensemble to any event. All of our handbell choirs enjoy performing at various venues.
Who to Contact for More Information?
Katonah Celebration Ringers (KCR)
Our KCR bell choir is made up of 12 ringers, some having more than 30 years’ experience ringing. We have 6 octaves of bronze bells, ranging in weight from a few ounces to over 10 pounds.
Our ringers have traveled nationally and internationally to perform their special music. Come and hear why!
Rehearsals are Sundays following worship from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM.
Adult Bell Ringers (ABC)
The ABC ringers meet periodically to rehearse and perform, and lend support to our KCR ringers, as needed.
The Chamber Ringers play intermediate level handbell music. They rehearse from 5:30 – 6:30 PM on Thursday afternoons during the school year. They play in church about once a month and participate annually in the Hudson Valley Handbell Festival Conference.
The Celebration Ringers are the beginning ringers. We invite children from our local communities to try out this free and fun music group that is open to kids as young as the 2nd grade interested in learning to play the bells. They work with Scott Munson, a volunteer from our church family who started ringing with the church nearly 40 years ago. They rehearse once a week for 45 minutes on Tuesday afternoons from 5:30 – 6:15 PM. The Celebration Ringers play in church several times a year and traditionally play the Palm Sunday procession that starts at the Katonah gazebo.
