From the book of Jeremiah (chapter 29, verses 1, 4-14), Pastor Cabaness traced the notion of “exile” from the Babylonian captivities to the paramount role of Hope for the future, to Reinhold Niebuhr (“nothing worthwhile can be achieved fully in a single lifetime”) and finally to the example of Professor Joseph Sittler who long ago planted seedlings that would give shade to students pursuing degrees at McCormick Seminary.
