Greetings! I am Rev. Dorinda Violante and I joined the KPC family in June of 2008 along with my husband and two children.

I am excited to be able to serve as Minister of Education and Spiritual Formation as this is the place where I first discovered that I belonged to God. I was baptized here at KPC and did most of my Sunday School years within your walls.

I started my professional life as a pediatric nurse. My love in nursing was home care. I enjoyed having the time to sit with families, hear their stories, and help plan how to best fit their needs. I will never forget my time serving as a nurse, but as the years went on I found that God was tugging at my heart to serve in a different vocation.

I had been active in my home church, Union Church in Newburgh, NY, as a deacon, an elder, choir member, served on various committee, and taught in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. As I became more active in leadership and service in our church, I felt the desire to discover more ways to tell the stories of our Lord Jesus Christ. My work in Christian Education lit a fire that could not be quenched. I became the Director of Christian Education at Union Church in 2001. I pursued the Commissioned Lay Pastor program to better equip me to serve and after one year answered God’s call to pursue a seminary education. I graduated from Union Theological Seminary in NYC in May 2009 and was ordained to the ministry of Word and Sacrament here at Katonah Presbyterian church in June 2010. My time at seminary has affirmed my desire to share the stories of our faith with all generations, empower our lay leaders, and to work together as one body in Christ to discern where He is calling us to be as disciples.

When I am not at the church planning church school, youth group, Vacation Bible School, or confirmation class with our amazing lay leaders, you will find me imagining how to continue to share the stories of our faith and the call to discipleship with people throughout our presbytery. I currently serve on the board and program committee for the Presbyterian Center Camp at Holmes and help lead the junior high and confirmation retreats throughout the year. Please feel free to contact me at I look forward to the conversations and journeys we will have together.
