The KPC Personnel Committee and Session are excited to share that effective September 26th, the Rev. Dr. Lindley DeGarmo will join our KPC family!
Lindley left a career in finance for the call to ministry, serving for many years at Towson Presbyterian Church in Baltimore. Lindley retired and then was called out of retirement, serving recently as Interim Pastor for Union Church of Pocantico Hills. Lindley found that the work energized him, and he is ready to start again here in Katonah.
Lindley has earned a B.A. and a master’s degree in public affairs from Princeton University. He also earned an advanced certificate in finance from the Stern Business School at N.Y.U., a Master of Divinity degree from Union Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Princeton Theological Seminary.
He serves as a member of the Finance Committee for the Hudson River Presbytery and as Vice Chair of the Committee on Mission Responsibility Through Investment for the Presbyterian Church (USA).
Lindley is married and the father of a young adult daughter, Ellie, who is a law student at Georgetown University. He and his wife, Sarah Finlayson, will be living in the manse.
The stated goal for a Transitional Minister differs from that of an Interim Minister. We welcome Lindley to lead our church during this transitional period between our last pastor and the next installed pastor as our Pastoral Nominating Committee embarks on the search. For the next six to ten months, Lindley will provide full-time pastoral leadership to Katonah Presbyterian Church. He will work with the KPC Session, Deacons, and the church family to bring the congregation back into greater community following COVID, rebuild our CE program, especially for the youngest students; and share the joy as we observe and celebrate our 150th anniversary.
Welcome, Lindley!
